Golly, Gee!

June 4th, 2009 No comments

Wow, what a time we had at the Gee/Nielsen wedding last weekend. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer couple, a more welcoming family or supportive friends.  The couple is truly blessed to be in such great company.

Here’s just a small handful of the many, many great images from their day.

It’s all about the details…

Wedding Preparedness

After feasting on the wonderful rehearsal-dinner food at the Latin King (odd name for an Italian restaurant), it’s time to go over the equipment for the big wedding day tomorrow one last time.  Two of everything?  Check!  Back off, Murphy!

~14 hours of coverage, wish us luck ;)

First Somewhat Official Wedding

May 9th, 2009 No comments

OK, I’m not gona lie.  Weddings are a new gig for me, and I have a few lined up this summer, including one the end of this month.  I’ve shot informally at weddings before, and attened enough to know the general drill, but really wanted some hard-core hands-on experience before I set loose on my own.

I contacted the great photographer at K.E.Y. Photography (he’s actually the photographer who shot our wedding, 7 years ago) to see if he had any upcoming weddings I could play second-shooter on, and quickly learn the ropes.  Well, he obliged, and that wedding was this afternoon up in exciting Fort Dodge. Scottish wedding… men in kilts, oh my!

Overall it was a great experience.  I’m glad I took the time to play second fiddle, and it confirmed that I’m ready to handle it on my own, capturing those fleating memories on one of the most important days of your life.

Here’s just a few memories from the day.
